ANOTHER WORLD IS POSSIBLE!!!

Are you between the ages of 16 and 30 and looking to get more involved in issues of global justice and development through your church community? justgeneration.ca is the Youth initiative of the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund. Consider joining our 'street team' by becoming a Diocesan Representative and getting involved in the work of justice, relief, refugees, sustainable development & peace by sharing the work of PWRDF partners and justgeneration.ca with Anglican youth. Make a difference in your Diocese and in the world, as you work with the justgeneration.ca Youth Council to engage youth in your area and be part of creating a world where there is 'enough for all'.

Title: justgeneration.ca 'street team' (Diocesan Representative)

Appointment: Volunteers are chosen by PWRDF staff through consultation with Diocesan offices and youth networks and staff, where present.

Term: 2 years

Accountability: To PWRDF Youth Council and Youth Initiative Staffperson

Key Function: Educate and animate a movement of youth in your diocese for Global change!!! Strengthen PWRDF / youth Diocesan connection and share stories of faith, justice, and global development with youth.

Stuff to do (responsibilities):

  • Schedule at least one diocesan youth event per year (or be present at an event highlighting PWRDF/justgeneration.ca) to reflect on the work of PWRDF & strengthen partnerships with Anglican youth. This could be many things including a Side-By-Side (or, Off-The-Grid) fast, a U2 Eucharist fundraiser, a World AIDS day vigil, a film night, a talk by a PWRDF partner or staff, a retreat on justice or development.
  • Create a presence at either Diocesan synod, or Diocesan Youth Synod (as appropriate) to promote the work of justgeneration.ca (talk, table, partner visit).
  • Work closely with the Diocesan PWRDF representative to create intergenerational opportunities to share the work and stories of PWRDF partners
  • Assist PWRDF to establish youth contacts, youth parish reps. and youth groups in your Diocese.
  • Communicate youth priorities of your Diocese to PWRDF youth council
  • Implement suggestions of the Youth Council in your Diocese
  • Support global education events in diocese and ecumenical networks by participating and encouraging youth participation
  • Initiate or collaborate on (as appropriate) youth-specific events for the dioceses
  • Promote and interpret the work of PWRDF in the constituency from a youth context, through speaking engagements and other means in dioceses; keep national office up-to-date on changes in addresses, etc.
  • Uphold PWRDF partners and programs in prayer and worship

Support provided by PWRDF:

  • Sends written notice of meetings and related materials in a timely manner
  • Provides staff support and resources for PWRDF promotion and fundraising, program interpretation, global education and especially youth engagement through Youth Council and Staff
  • Provides ongoing communication about PWRDF programs and resources
  • Distributes annual ecumenical education and advocacy materials
  • Provides network of youth representatives with whom you can gain support and exchange ideas
  • Eligibility to participate in delegations, connections and exchanges with PWRDF partners.
  • Subsidizes or covers travel costs to meetings of youth representatives, Diocesan representatives and/or youth council (as determined by PWRDF Public Engagement Staff).
