Anglican Church of Burundi - Diocese of Bujumbura

The mission of the Diocese is to "expand the Kingdom of God by proclaiming the Good News and facilitating the [use] of community resources to let people enjoy a plentiful life". The Diocese is aware that the mission of the Church is to cover the naked, to feed the hungry, to plead for the victims of all kinds of injustices, to proclaim the Good News of Peace with God and between human beings.

The Youth Department, in particular, focuses on:

• Promoting evangelism among the young people
• Creating enough space for young people in the life of the Church
• Capacity building
• Peace building and reconciliation among young people and students
• Promoting the networking of youth within the Diocese and with different partners
• Fighting HIV/AIDS among the youth
• Promoting income generating activities among the young people
• Assisting street children and orphans of HIV/AIDS and the civil war
• Organising youth camps and youth festivals
